Another interesting article I read from the same site:
You can still be DJing even if you're not in the studio / with your decks. Question is...how?
Let me share few other tips...how do I do it...
- Spend an hour the night before burn your favourite DJ / producer's music into a CD and play it in your car while you're on the way driving to work / coming back home from work. You know the traffic in Malaysia, especially KL. If it rains or an accident occurred, you'll stuck for at least an hour or two. So why not make use of the time & train your ears with your favourite tracks / mixes instead of getting angry or honking at others. This applies also to sales people who spend alot of time driving around too. Make sense? Do it please... :) This week's favourite mix in the car goes to: http://soundcloud.com/nicolechen/i-nicole-chen-tm-s-e-x-y
- If you're not working for any particular bank, nowadays offices are quite flexible in terms of your working style. Most magazine publishing & design houses / advertising agencies / telco companies or even retail / shopping mall outlets. You can always subscribe to: www.mixcloud.com/faith_angela , www.soundcloud.com/faith_angela , google for BBC Radio 1, or Astro Hitz TV / MTV or burn all your favourite latest tracks and familiarise yourself with it before you spin. This is also part of the DJing learning process too, yea...I'm talking about training your ears!

- If your office allows youtube, I strongly suggest you watch at least video of your favourite DJ performing once a day. It could be also new DJ equipments demo, how they use. Just like what people always say "An apple a day, keeps doctor away". Same thing here "A video a day, you're 1 step ahead of other DJs"...knowledge wise I meant :) Here's the video of my all time favourite DJ / producer, Don Diablo...it's so damnnnn inspiring! :)
- Skills and music knowledge is the core value as a DJ but there are also other supporting reasons a DJ must learn is FASHION! Fashion and DJ are a package. You might not agree with me...but I personally think...it's somehow quite crucial. You do not need to have a beautiful face, great body or few thousands Ringgit to spend every now and then. All you need to do is to have that FASHION SENSE that represents you.
- Another example, every DJ / most clubbers know Daftpunk and Deadmau5. They wear simple jeans and tshirts. Their MASK is the representative of their FASHION SENSE. In short, you do not need to be rich to have this. Sit down, go window shopping and think of what do you stands for...I'm thinking about this too seriously...
